My name is Ivana Dumancic and I am the founder of this incredible company.
Raised with a passion for gastronomy and a love for organisation, I am a true lover of life. Traveling is my mindset, and there’s nothing I love more than exploring new places and cultures. While I enjoy planning weddings in the summer, winter evenings are best spent cooking or going out with my friends, sipping on a full-bodied glass of wine and enjoying the music.

Before diving into the world of wedding planning, I spent seven years in Germany working as as a teacher. However, the Croatian sun and the stunning blue sea were always calling to me. Following my dreams, I settled in the wonderful city of Split, where I embarked on a beautiful adventure in wedding planning that has far exceeded my expectations. Our history

Monio Weddings was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to create a wedding planning agency that truly understands and caters to the needs of each couple. When I first started, I carefully studied what the market had to offer, but I also had my own vision—one that reflected what I, as a bride, would want in a wedding planner.

One of the most important aspects was ensuring that every couple, no matter their style or budget, could find their perfect venue and the right team of vendors. To make that possible, I traveled across Croatia, visiting each venue in person, speaking with the people behind them, and learning firsthand what was possible at each location. I wanted to know every detail—what was allowed, what was unique about each place, and how it could be transformed into a dream wedding setting.

The same approach applied to choosing vendors. I carefully studied their work, observed their attention to detail, and selected only those who met our high standards. I wasn’t just looking for talent—I was looking for people who shared our values: honesty, passion, and the desire to create unforgettable moments for our couples.

Over time, Monio Weddings grew into a trusted name for destination weddings in Croatia, but our core values have never changed. We continue to approach every wedding with the same level of care, passion, and dedication. For us, it’s not just about planning an event—it’s about creating a meaningful, stress-free, and magical experience that reflects the love story of each couple.

Where to get married in Croatia

Do I need a groomsmen?

Yes, two witnesses are essential for a legal marriage. However, if you want to get married all by yourself, this can also be your wedding planner and your photographer.

Which administrative procedures have to be taken care of after the wedding?

After the civil marriage in Croatia, you as a German or Austrian citizen do not have to do anything else. Your signed international extracts will be automatically forwarded to your home country by the Croatian Ministry of State. So after a Croatian wedding you are husband and wife in Germany or Austria.

How much does a civil wedding in Croatia cost?

You should calculate €500 just for the bureaucratic effort, the application for the documents and your registrar. For a wedding with an interpreter – which is absolutely necessary if you don’t both speak Croatian – we recommend calculating with € 1,000. These are empirical values, which can also vary depending on the background.

Do we need an interpreter?

If both bride and groom do not speak Croatian, an interpreter is required. You cannot simply ask Aunt Emma or a friend for this, it must be a legally recognized interpreter.
